The first step is a thorough analysis of present processes and demands for automation. In this stage potential areas of automation are being identified and project goals are being determined.
The next stage is developing a design and plan in which a detailed implementation plan is elaborated. It includes the selection of suitable technology, defining scope of the project and establish a time schedule.
After approving the plan, the next stage involves implementing the very automation solution. When developing process is finished, a testing to verify functionality and efficiency of the solution takes place.
Passing the test is followed by the stage of implementation and installation in which the new solution is being integrated into existing infrastructure and organization processes. This may involve training the personnel and gradual installation of the solution. Subsequent monitoring and maintenance are matter of course.
